New DeRoche Fire Department & Community Center was founded in 1980. It began in the old New DeRoche Elementary School that consolidated with Bismarck School. It housed a Fire Department, Ambulance Service and Community Center. Senior Citizens enjoyed fellowship and lunch once a week, a Halloween Carnival, Elections, parties, meetings and much more. The property contained several baseball, softball and T-Ball fields. During the year, the Fire Department, Senior Citizens and Bismarck Summer Sports hosted a weekend Bluegrass festival, with visitors and participants from several states.
In deteriorating state, it was decided to tear down the old building and build a new facility. A 60 X 60 foot metal building was constructed that included a three bay fire department, office and community/training center. All of the finishing work was done by the personnel and funded by the department. The community center was finished with gracious donations from the community members, grants, fundraisers and events. (See our donor list).
Our Community/Training Center is available to rent for a non- refundable $50 fee and a refundable $50 deposit if there are no damages.
